Playbooks

Turn your organization’s contract standards into a reusable and editable review framework.

What is a playbook?

A playbook is your organization’s contract review standard. It tells NexLens what language is acceptable, what must be present, what requires escalation, and what should be rejected.

  • Required clauses and protections
  • Preferred and fallback language
  • Risk thresholds and deal-breakers
  • Jurisdiction, notice, renewal, and liability requirements
  • Internal escalation instructions

Upload and preview

PDF and DOCX playbooks retain their original private source. PDF files preview directly. DOCX files are converted to a PDF preview through private document-processing infrastructure.

The original document is displayed separately from the extracted rules so editing the rules does not alter the uploaded source.

Edit extracted rules

Open a playbook and edit its name or extracted content. Write rules as direct, testable instructions. Save the playbook before using the revised version in a new analysis.

Previously uploaded playbooks may not have an original preview. Reattach the source file to enable source-document viewing.

Use multiple playbooks

An analysis can use one to three ordered playbooks. Put the most authoritative playbook first. Findings retain the playbook and rule attribution so reviewers can resolve conflicts.

Shared reference playbooks

Some playbooks are provided as shared references, such as the DOLE Workers’ Statutory Monetary Benefits Handbook. Any account can select and preview these alongside its own playbooks.

A shared playbook occupies one of your per-analysis playbook slots while selected. It does not count toward the number of playbooks you can store, and it can only be edited by the account that maintains it.

Replace or delete a source

Replacing a playbook source removes the superseded private file after the new source is stored. Deleting a playbook removes its record and associated private source files.
